Scott Martell
God has given Scott Martell a passion for children and orphans in Ethiopia. After serving four years with Project Mercy, Scott is turning his attention to the orphans who are in the streets begging for food and who are in need of spiritual food as well, serving with Ethiopia Hope Village. He is partnering with Emmanuel Church, an Ethiopian national church, to develop a ministry in Butajira, 130 km south of the capital city of Addis Ababa. In addition to the work in Butajira, Ethiopia Hope Village has a board of directors comprised of doctors, HIV counselors, church leaders and business people, which is praying about developing a youth center. The vision is that the youth center would host food programs, HIV monitoring and education, medical checkups, a library Bible studies, VBS programs, sports activities and other ideas generated from the community.
In December 2009, Scott completed NMSI's COAT missionary training program. He deployed to begin this new ministry in Ethiopia in Spring 2010. Continue to pray for Scott as he serves the Lord through the Ethiopian church in Butajira.
