Great expectations—2010
By Tim Dammon, CEO
I love to create photographic reminders of what I see when I travel to mission posts around the world. Somehow the graphic representation of a “moment in time” never fails to bring me right back to the thought I experienced when I took the picture.
This picture, for example, is of a woman from the Bara people in Madagascar. I was drawn to her image across an expanse of grassland in a very remote region of that island nation. The expectancy of her impending delivery coupled with the anxious, almost suspicious, look on her face created a tension within me that was palpable. Often we await some event or occasion with that same mixture of expectancy and uncertainty.
Today, 2010 stretches out before us with all the promise and uncertainty inherent in any new year. The opportunity is incredible for us - for you - to impact the world in the name of Jesus. Will you embrace that opportunity? Or will another year pass before you fully engage in God’s plan to restore His dominion on earth?
All around the world New Mission Systems International is committed to being and doing the things Jesus was and did: caring for orphans and widows, binding up the broken-hearted, seeking justice, giving grace and offering abundant life. What part will you play in these ministries? Will you invest financially in what God is doing through NMSI? Will you commit to pray earnestly that the good news of Jesus will impact lives through our work? Will you allow God to call you to join us in a short-term project or as a career missionary?
Make this new year — 2010 — a year of opportunity and commitment. Join us as we seek to impact the world through Jesus.
Looking forward,
Tim Dammon, CEO
